Langfang's economy has grown rapidly thanks to its unique location between Beijing and Tianjin. The Langfang Economic and Technological Development Zone hosts over 1,000 enterprises in electronics, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and food processing.
The city is a major manufacturing base for automotive parts, with many suppliers serving the Beijing-Tianjin automotive industry. The convention and exhibition industry is also significant, with the Langfang International Convention Center hosting trade fairs year-round.
Agriculture remains important in outlying counties. Xianghe is famous for its meat pie industry, Dachang for premium beef production, and Gu'an for high-quality apples. The service sector, particularly logistics and warehousing, has expanded rapidly as Beijing's non-capital functions are relocated to the region.
