Baoding Travel Guide

The best-preserved provincial governor complex from the Qing Dynasty. Built in 1729, it served as the office and residence of the Viceroy of Zhili, who governed Hebei, Henan, and Shandong. The complex covers 30,000 square meters with 105 buildings showcasing Qing architecture.

The largest freshwater lake in northern China, known as the "Pearl of North China" and "Jiangnan of the North". The lake contains over 3,700 islands and channels, famous for lotus flowers in summer, reed marshes, and fresh water products. The area holds historical significance from the Anti-Japanese War period.

Memorial site of the Baoding Military Academy, founded in 1902, which trained many famous Chinese military leaders including Feng Yuxiang and other prominent generals. The museum displays historical photos, weapons, and uniforms.

The tomb of Liu Sheng, Prince of Zhongshan, and his wife Dou Wan, discovered in 1968. Famous for the jade burial suits sewn with gold wire, the first such suits ever discovered in China.
