Ruian Travel Guide

Built in 1888 by Sun Yiyan, a renowned Qing dynasty scholar, Yuhai Tower is one of China's most famous private libraries. The elegant traditional building houses over 50,000 volumes of rare Chinese classics, many with handwritten annotations by famous scholars. The library's garden is a masterpiece of classical Jiangnan landscaping.
